The Flat Tank And Girder Fork Run

This is the section's premier event. It is, as the name suggests, aimed at older machines, though contrary to the name, we have now opened entries to all rigid framed machines.

It is based in Lancashire's beautiful Trough of Bowland, and consists of 25 or 50 mile routes along quiet roads suitable for vintage and veteran machines and taking in stunning scenery. A support & recovery vehicle is provided. It's a friendly, non-competitive event, starting and finishing at Goosnargh Village Hall, where refreshments are available on the day.

This event has traditionally been held in May, but for 2025, the date has changed to saturday 21st June.

The Wray Run 17th May

NEW for 2025, a celebration of ALL motorcycles and especially our pre-1949 motorcycle heritage (writes Andy Graveson. Chairman Central Lancs VMCC).

This event will be run in addition to the Goosnargh based Flat Tank and Girder Fork Run.

A partnership between the Northwest VMCC sections and Bridge house Farm classic car and motorcycle events, brings you the Wray Run.

Two runs of approximately 25 and 60 miles for all pre-1949 motorcycles that will take in some of the country's most beautiful biking roads around the Lancashire and Yorkshire borders. Look forward to iconic landmarks and villages such as the Ribblehead viaduct, Devils bridge, Hawes, Kirkby Lonsdale and of course, the picturesque village of Wray.

Bridge House Farm will be our host for the day and have produced a special display ramp to introduce each of the owners and bikes at the start of the run and should be a great photo opportunity.

You can also look forward to some special guests joining you on the run and hopefully taking tips on re-starting the bikes at the frequent local pit stops.

The runs have no competitive element so just relax and enjoy the beautiful roads and countryside and make the most of the abundant local hospitality on route and especially through the village of Kirkby Lonsdale as the local council will want to provide a warm welcome to the run participants.

For bikes (classic and modern) and bikers not eligible for the run, don't worry as there will be lots going on at the Bridge House farm base. The usual hospitality will be available with the famous hog roast and locally produced food from the outside catering and the tea rooms.

We will have a special area available to the Wray Run entrants and ALL pre 1949 motorcycles and owners wishing to just display their bikes.

There is ample parking for all other motorcycles both classic and modern so please make a day of it and have a ride out to see how much fun you can have on our older bikes and hopefully experience the joy, community and benefits of the VMCC membership.

For those travelling and want to stay overnight in caravans and campers then Bridge House Farm can look after you. Please contact them directly.

If you want to pre book your Run entry before 1st May you can guarantee your place on the run and enjoy a thank you discount.

We are happy to accept entries after the 1st and on the day however spaces may be limited.

Bookings are open to VMCC members as well as non-members so don't worry if you are not a member. Your entry will include a VMCC day membership and all the benefits this provides.

All Wray Run entrants can benefit from our special display area, run marshal support including recovery of you or your bike back to base if needed.
